On the road again...

It seems that "summertime" means burning-up-the-road for the Atlanta Lamberth's.  If Lake Martin were only as close as Newnan...  it's a nice thought anyway.

Last weekend we spent time with both sides of our family in AL for Independence Day.  Might I add that this could be one of the best holidays we celebrate.  Families get together to cook, eat, and play without all of the stress we put on ourselves during the Christmas season.  (Not that Christmas isn't truly amazing, but our vision sometimes gets blurred to the real "reason for the season".  Too much commercialization....I guess.)  But with the 4th, we really get to sit back and relax.

We spent most of Saturday with my family at the cabin and all day Sunday with the Lamberth's.  (We've got this flip flopping routine down pat.)

Here's a few pics from last weekend at the cabin:

Hank and Cam hitting golf balls into the lake.

My dad driving us around the lake.

Mom and Aunt Laura

Cam, Pam and Hannah

Lankford grandparents

Peterson grandparents - Don't you love my Papa Larry's outfit?  American to the Core, John Deer cap, and a Dr. Pepper.  It doesn't get more southern than that!  All he's missing is his fishing pole.

At the Lamberth's on Sunday we spent most of the time in the water and lounging around in their beautiful back yard.

Nolen even showed Hank how to do a "proper" front flip off the dock.  My hubby hasn't quite mastered the concept yet.  :)

Here's what I did most of the weekend:

MB and Mr. Tom hosted lots of family (Ingram's, Lamberth's, and Lankford's) for a cookout right before the Fireworks Show at the Lake Martin Amphitheater.

Now do you see why the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays?

On another note, tomorrow I'm heading to New York City with MB and Addie.  We've never had a trip without all the boys, so I'm really looking forward to the time we are going to spend together!

Here's some pictures from my first trip to New York with the Lamberth's:

My next post will surely be about the amazing trip to NYC.  I can't wait to give you the full report!
