Birthday Boys!

This year we had a joint birthday party for our boys.  Their birthdays are 5 days apart, so I'm sure this is how it will be from now on!

Henry finally decided on a "Planes" party. Dinosaurs, monster trucks and machines were all in the running.

We love donuts around here, so we had a breakfast party.  It actually turned out great.....no fussy food to worry about and the party was over by lunch time!

HENRY IS FOUR!

MAXWELL IS ONE!

Max is a sweet baby.  He loves "Ma Ma" and likes to keep me in his sight.  Right now he is pulling up, cruising around furniture and climbing stairs.  He crawls super fast, when he wants to, and laughs when he is doing something he knows he shouldn't be doing.  His favorite thing to do is mess up whatever Henry is working on and he LOVES balloons.  It's so cliche, but it truly is hard to believe how quickly they grow up.

Here are Max's monthly photos:

One year photos of Max:

Henry is one smart cookie.  He hears everything and is full of energy.  He is ALL boy and prefers to use the bathroom outside.  He has been quite the handful lately, and I'm thankful to see glimpses of him maturing.  He loves school and is definitely a daddy's boy.

These two are such precious gifts from above.  I thank God for their lives and for trusting Hank and me to raise them.

Papa Larry

As I mentioned before, my Papa Larry went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2014.

This was the first loss I've experienced in my adult life, so I had no idea what to expect.  I have been broken-hearted, filled with sadness and in a state of "Did that really happen?".

I will miss his phone calls to "check on Kasi-J".  I will miss seeing him sitting in the rocking chair on their front porch.  I will miss him laughing at his own jokes and poking fun at the people around him.  I will miss hearing a western or baseball on TV when I go over for a visit.  I will miss listening to his stories about life, fishing and growing up in Florida.

Most of all, I will miss him.

It's Been a While

Let's catch up:

Hank had a birthday in July.  He's 31 now.  That's hard to believe, considering we stared dating when we were 16. Thomas and Hank's birthdays are 10 days apart, so we had a joint celebration dinner at our house.

I hosted a Sunday School get together at my in-laws house this summer.  There were 22 kids and 9 mamas. It was controlled chaos.

Henry started 3 year old pre-school.  I can't get over how much he has grown since we've been in this rental house!

We've spent a lot of time at my Papa Larry and Granny Joyce's house.  I took this picture of all the great-grandchildren a couple of days before my papa passed away.  More on that topic in another post....

We just had a joint birthday party for my boys. I'll have a separate post on that topic too!

Stay tuned...
